"...An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying...you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)

"...And when it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying, ... "Are You the Son of God, then?" And He (Jesus) said to them, "Yes, I am." (Luke 22:66)

The Bible is the only written record of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. A careful study of the New Testament indicates that Jesus was more than just a good moral teacher. The written record of the words of Jesus Christ shows us that He himself claimed to be the Son of God. He told others to believe His testimony based on His supernatural power to heal every form of disease and infirmity and even at times to raise the dead. Jesus taught that He came to tell us the truth about life and to save us from our sins. Because of the sin of Adam the first man, and because of our own sins, we all fall short of God's standard of perfect righteousness and need to have all of our sins forgiven in order to experience reconciliation with God. Also, to some degree, all need to be delivered from the enslaving and corrupting power of sin and to be given relief from the pain and misery that sin can bring into our lives. Finally, all men need to receive the gift of eternal life in order to overcome death the ultimate wages of sin. All these things are available to us in and through God's Son Jesus Christ.
