The
Bible teaches that every person needs salvation from sin. Because
of the sin of Adam the first man and because of our own sins we
all fall short of the perfect righteousness required for us to
be able to live with God. There is no amount of good works, religious
activity or moral uprightness that can cancel out the debt of
our sin. God has provided for us the only means by which we can
be saved . He accomplished this for us through the death of His
Son Jesus Christ who suffered and died in our place on the cross
of Calvary. There on the cross Jesus made it possible for us to
be forgiven our sins by suffering the penalty of death on our
behalf. This salvation from God is a gift which He gives to us
according to His grace, kindness, mercy and love. We cannot earn
it, buy it or merit it ourselves in any way.
In
order for us to receive this gift we must exercise personal faith
believing the truth of this gospel message and accepting the forgiveness
God offers to us. God calls us to repent of our sins, and receive
His Son Jesus as our Savior from sin and Lord of our lives. To
become a Christian is to join yourself by faith, not to a religious
organization but to a person, Jesus Christ, the risen and living
Son of God, Savior of the world and Lord of all.
While
we are invited to come to God and freely receive this
gift by faith we are also warned that those who reject Gods love and authority, and who fail to respond
in repentance and faith will punished
by God being separated from Him in a place called hell forever.
Knowing
the love which God has for us and in light of these warnings we
urge all to consider the following biblical truths regarding personal
salvation and we encourage you to respond to God and the Gospel
in faith and obedience.
